DS N°8 and Glass by František Jungvirt in a New Art Project
Glass artist and designer František Jungvirt has joined forces with French carmaker DS Automobiles to launch the brand’s new flagship model, the DS N°8, which offers a combined range of up to 750 km (WLTP). The New model is now also available on the Czech market, and its premiere has become the impetus for the implementation of a unique art project that connects automotive design with the world of contemporary glass art.
Jungvirt has been a DS brand ambassador since 2023 and his unique style has now been incorporated into the visual story of the DS N°8. The artistic photography duo Shotby_us, made up of Lenka Glisníková and Karolína Matušková, was invited to the unusual photo shoot. Together, they created a series of stylized images that connect the detailed lines of the car with the aesthetic purity of the glass objects.
The central motif of the photographs was the DS N°8 itself – its elegant curves, lighting elements and precise craftsmanship – set in dialogue with the characteristic shapes of Jungvirt’s glass works. The aim was to highlight what unites both worlds: an eye for detail, work with materials and an emphasis on aesthetic and technological perfection.
“For me, DS Automobiles cars stand out with their design, charm, timelessness and high-quality of craftsmanship of every detail. As part of the artistic photo editorial that we shot with Lenka Glisníková and Karolína Matušková from the photography duo Shotby_us, we focused on these advantages, which I also highlight in my work, and I think that is what naturally connects us with DS. In the photographs, you will find a combination of lines, different materials, but also a play of light and optics,” says František Jungvirt.
