About project

At the heart of the project lies *The Mumm Grand Edition*, the largest art object created by František Jungvirt to date. This pure crystal masterpiece was designed to house a 6-liter bottle of Mumm champagne. The object’s design is defined by a unique color hue, achieved through a complex, masterful formula incorporating gold oxide. This color serves as a direct reference to the legendary *Cordon Rouge*—the red ribbon symbolizing courage and victory. The piece seamlessly blends high art with functionality; in an interior setting, it can serve as a luxurious design vase, a standalone art object, or a stylish champagne cooler. Hand-cut edges—showcasing the pinnacle of glassmaking craftsmanship—create a captivating play of light within the crystal that responds to the constant movement and effervescence of the champagne inside the bottle. The base of *The Mumm Grand Edition* is hand-gilded and bears František Jungvirt’s signature, marking it as a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.

“In this combination, elegance meets masterful passion. I wanted to capture the vibrant, pulsating energy of Mumm champagne and interpret it through traditional Czech glassmaking techniques,” says the creator, František Jungvirt.

The uniqueness of The Mumm Grand Edition is underscored by its charitable purpose. The piece will be unveiled on July 4, 2026, during an exclusive Mumm party held as part of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Subsequently, the work will be sold to the most compelling bidder. The minimum starting price is CZK 300,000. All proceeds will go toward supporting projects of the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97.

In addition to the unique piece, an exclusive edition known as “The Mumm Collector’s Edition” was created for 1.5-liter bottles of Mumm champagne. This series comprises just 12 individually numbered art objects (six in a glossy finish and six in a matte finish). The glossy version plays skillfully with reflections of light and the surrounding space, while the matte version employs a sandblasting technique to create a subtle visual effect that makes the bottle inside the object almost disappear. The price for a single object from this limited edition—which includes a Mumm Magnum champagne bottle—is set at CZK 85,000:The Mumm Collector’s Edition

All the pieces, including the unique item, were mouth-blown at the Ajeto glassworks in Lindava in the south od Bohemia, a facility synonymous with the craftsmanship of Czech glassmakers. The Mumm Grand Edition object was hand-ground over a period of 14 days by master glass cutter artisan Jiří Štencl from Jablonec nad Nisou.
