A unique collectible series of hand-cut vases.

The Unique vase-objects are mouth-blown into a wooden mold made of czech crystal glass.

The modern silhouette of the vase in an atypical color alludes to the classic Czech tradition of hand glass cutting difficult patterns into crystal.

The edges of different sizes on the rare alexandrite glass will play a unique game of glitter, reflections and colors.

Inspired by hand cutting natural gemstones.

Sometimes we wouldn’t even have to distinguish a gem in its natural, unprocessed form from an ordinary stone. It will only become a real gem when polished. Through to it, the gem can fully shine and show its hidden beauty of color, sparkle and other unique properties.

We can judge how grinding was in the Czech lands in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV by looking at the crown of St. Wenceslas or the paneling of the chapel of St. Crosses on Karlštejn. The shape of the cuts already indicates a higher level of grinding and the fact that certain techniques were already being used, which were not yet completely obvious at that time.

Hand-cut by the master glass grinder Jiří Štencl, Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic.

Each vase is only one original.

More information at frantisekjungvirt@gmail.com .

Photos by Anna Pleslova.
