The non-profit Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship supports contemporary creators around the world. Its mission is to celebrate craftsmanship and the creativity of designers, while at the same time strengthening the ties between these two worlds. It appeals to both masters of their craft and rising stars to its ranks.

On the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2023, the biggest event held during Milan Design Week, the Michelangelo Foundation presents the seventh edition of the Doppia Firma project. It captures the dialogue between innovations in the field of design and the traditions of great craftsmen. The theme of this year’s edition is playfulness, which in applied art is often created by original works unfettered by rules and conventions. Internationally, the organizers have tested a number of products created in this spirit. is a curated selection of 22 pairs created by the designer and artisan who created the design.

“It is a great honor for me to be the only Czech in the selection of 22 designers from all over the world, in addition to names like Matteo Cibic, Yvone Brunner, Jaime Hayón, Adriana Gomez and Atelier Biagetti. Playing with shapes, colors and hand-painted motifs are among the hallmarks of my work, as well as exaggeration and a kind of childlike naivety. I am also glad that I made the choice this year, when the theme is playfulness,”
